watching the chuunin exams in boruto makes me remember 13 year old me watching the original chuunin exams from naruto. ugh… the good old times. makes me wanna cry so hard lol thats when my obsession began
So because of the virus I really hope everyone is safe. As for me, i got into grad school! I never thought I’d be able to say that one day. I hope everyone is doing alright. Please let me know what y'all have been up to.
I just finished playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the ending almost made me cry (not gonna say spoilers).
I’m not usually one that’s big on celebrating but the end of this decade has been monumental. Primarily because Naruto ended in this decade. I didn’t think I’d live to see it. You’re always in our hearts Naruto <3
I’m about to head to sleep but before I go i want to say… Happy Birthday to Shisui Uchiha. Hands down the humblest Uchiha, despite him being incredibly strong. You didn’t deserve that death. </3
*headcanon - sharingan memories, madara, and izuna’s eyes.
A little known canon fact is that Sharingan users who take the eyes of another Sharingan user can recall the recorded memories of the original owner. When Sasuke took Itachi’s eyes, he commented that his brother’s memories were “disgusting and sad”.
So let’s think about Madara. Madara who, nearly blind, took the dying Izuna’s eyes on his request. Madara who didn’t merely watch his brother receive that fatal wound and die later on, but also got to see everything firsthand as Izuna saw it, who would remember everything that Izuna ever saw with those eyes for the rest of his life.
(You know he absolutely went knee-deep in everything Izuna left behind, even if it hurt him. How does it feel to relive the world through your dead brother’s eyes?)
The Sharingan never forgets. All the memories recorded by them – the original trauma that inspired their manifestation, every battle situation that necessitated their use, every kill made with the Sharingan on… is remembered in perfect detail. Every. Single. Thing.
No wonder the Uchiha have a reputation for going nutty. These are killers under extreme stress and they can’t even forget the worst of their memories? Fucking hell.
On the other hand, this makes me wonder if their infamous “deep love” is caused by this. I personally headcanon that the Uchiha record good memories (to offset the bad) and some of them use it to commit details of their loved ones. What must that be like? To remember everything about someone you love, to never forget their face, to see them so clearly that not even a lifetime will wipe their memory away? What is it like to remember them even when they are gone?
Maybe the Uchiha don’t let go, not because of sheer bloody-mindedness, but because they physically can’t.
tobirama: you dimwit. you absolute moron. you are such a monumental idiot that you didn’t even realize what you just said. i am a verbal magician and you, my friend, are a naive simpleton. a foolish uchiha. your family line deserves to die with you
This is a long list, but for diehard fans of itachi, please do read this post. Here are some facts I’ve compiled while reading the Itachi Shinden novels (Book of Daylight and Midnight):
Fugaku wanted to be Hokage (part of the clan’s resentment was due to the village choosing Minato over Fugaku)
Fugaku thought Izumi Uchiha was beautiful and he wanted her to stay by Itachi’s side, always
Stunned by Izumi’s strong feelings for Itachi, Fugaku cried at the sight of Izumi after she left his house, because Fugaku was glad Itachi finally had someone who he could rely on
Itachi briefly states that he did desire to pursue a relationship with Izumi, but he was afraid it would only be a distraction, a set-back to his goal of “ending all fighting in the shinobi world”. This man had some real self-discipline
Shisui had a close friend that he killed (or technically, he let his friend die) out of envy and jealousy during the Great War, and later awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan because of immense feelings of regret
Izumi’s mom was Hazuki Uchiha, whom was 2 years younger than Fugaku. Izumi was also a half-blooded Uchiha (her mom was an Uchiha, her dad was not)
Shisui must have been 2-4 years older than Itachi (Itachi stated Shisui looked tired once, and that was not because he was breaching manhood) so he must have been 14-16, which at the time Itachi was 12
Shisui’s father was battling an illness
It is an absolute shame that the anime did not give Itachi’s character enough credit. His story is so profound, and you can really feel his emotions through the articulate writing. I am awestruck. Itachi was a patient and selfless man whose mind was puddled with questions and doubts about his destiny in his Godforsaken clan. I have nothing else to say. Itachi is nothing short of a hero.
